Who are Pitchpole Jack?

Pitchpole Jack combines the talents of expert fiddler Paul Meager from Bristol with the musical experience and knowledge of Gwilym and Carol Davies from Cheltenham.

Gwilym and Carol have been involved in folk music for many years and can draw on a large body of songs collected by Gwilym in Great Britain and the USA.

As well as being able to present concerts, Pitchpole Jack can play for your ceilidh or barn dance.

Carol Davies - Keyboard and voice
Gwilym Davies - Banjo, concertina, melodeons and voice
Paul Meager - Fiddle and voice

What does Pitchpole Jack mean?

It's another name for the Morris dance tune 'Shepherd's Hey'.

This way up,
That way back,
In and out and round about
And Pitchpole Jack. (trad)
